Responsibilities:

We have an exciting opportunity for a business student to join the Business Administration team supporting the Mechanical Systems Engineering, Fabrication & Test Division. As a Part-Time Intern supporting the Mechanical Systems Engineering, Fabrication & Test Division, you will assist with business operations including financial budgets, analytical assessments, forecasting, trend analysis, workforce planning, acquisitions, facilities, and property management. Will prepare and learn to present the monthly/quarterly service center reports to section and division management­­­­­­. Will open and assist with maintaining service orders, routers, uploads, and correct failed transactions. Collaborate with the service center team on business process improvements. Support Section ad-hoc assignments.

Your Responsibilities Include

  • Identify and routinely use the most effective, cost efficient and best business practices to execute processes; continually evaluates their effectiveness and appropriateness.
  • Exercise judgment in planning, organizing and performing work; monitors performance and reports status within area of responsibility.
  • Assure that quality of services meets internal and external customer
  • May represent organization and resolve problems/determine priorities related to the above.
  • Responsible for a variety of general administrative activities to assist, coordinate, and perform aspects of logistics, acquisitions, shipping and finance for organizations of the Laboratory. Maintain, collate, assemble and prepare a variety of information, reports and records; may assist with coordination of organizational projects and/or collection of related information.
  • Run and create standard reports using a variety of software programs.
  • Scan inventory items and updates inventory database (manual or electronic).
Qualifications
  • Must be currently enrolled at least half-time at an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 8 hours per week, with a maximum of 30 hours per week while in school.
  • Must have minimum cumulative 3.0 out of 4.0 GPA.
  • Knowledge in one or more of the following areas: business administration, finance, budgeting, workforce planning, computer science, acquisitions and human resources.
  • Completed coursework with exposure to standard principals, theories concepts and techniques in business, accounting, financial analysis, forecasting/trend analysis, budgeting and reporting.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel [pivot tables, macros, advanced functions], PowerPoint, Access, Outlook).
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently and apply judgment in planning, prioritizing, and completing tasks.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong customer service, philosophy, background, and utmost professionalism in interfacing with all levels of personnel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
